Infection Control Specialist (RN/LPN) – Generations at Oakton Pavillion
Generations at Oakton Pavillion is seeking a dedicated Infection Control Specialist. Candidates must possess either an LPN or RN license. Infection Prevention Certification is advantageous.
Key Qualifications:
- Completion of a 19-hour CMS Infection Prevention and Control Course is required, or candidates must be in the process of completing it. We are committed to supporting further training for the right individual.
Compensation ranges from $72,800 to $90,000, based on qualifications and certifications, along with a selection of insurance options, paid time off, a 401k plan with matching contributions, opportunities for career advancement, and additional benefits.

Responsibilities of the Infection Control Specialist (RN/LPN):
- Promote the facility's care philosophy and work towards achieving its objectives.
- Develop and maintain documentation standards for all Infection Control reports.
- Create specific policies and procedures for Infection Control across various departments, including nursing, maintenance, laundry, dietary, rehabilitation, and ancillary services.
- Track and analyze infection incidents, ensuring proper documentation for reporting.
- Identify and address trends in infection incidents, implementing appropriate follow-up actions.
- Oversee the execution of corrective measures by designated departments or staff members.
- Set educational objectives for Infection Control and provide training sessions to meet these goals.
- Ensure the confidentiality of resident information is maintained.
- Participate as a weekend Supervisor as part of the management rotation.
Requirements for the Infection Control Specialist (RN/LPN):
- Must be a licensed RN or LPN in the State of Illinois.
- Certification as a Nursing Home Infection Preventionist is preferred but not mandatory.
- Completion of the 19-hour Online CMS Infection Prevention and Control Course is required.
- Experience in Infection Prevention within a Skilled Nursing Facility is essential.
- Strong understanding of general nursing practices and geriatric care is necessary.
- Familiarity with JCAHO, OBRA, IDPH, and HFS regulations is important.
- Demonstrated compassion and understanding towards older adults is crucial.
