About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Sprinkler Inspector to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of our sprinkler systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and testing of sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct thorough inspections of sprinkler systems, including wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and foam systems.
- Identify and report any defects or issues with sprinkler systems, and provide recommendations for repair or replacement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of inspection and maintenance activities.
- Develop and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule to ensure timely completion of inspections.
- Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documentation using our laptop-based system.
- Make minor repairs and programming changes under the direct supervision of authorized personnel.
- Complete assigned inspections on time and to a high standard of quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of documented experience in sprinkler systems, preferably with NICET II certification.
- Able to obtain and retain any licenses required by National, State, and Local codes.
- Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs, schematics, and operational/product manuals.
- Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.
- Demonstrates an aptitude for troubleshooting systems and performing necessary repairs.
- Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call rotation, nights, and weekends to meet customer requirements.
- Willing to travel out of town.
- Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
- Ability to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.
- State DPOR Sprinkler Inspector License or the ability to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications
- Repair experience.
- Backflow certification.
