Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Technician to join our team at PruittHealth. As a Phlebotomy Technician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and performing phlebotomy procedures with precision and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide routine daily nursing care and services to assigned patients in accordance with their assessment and care plan.
  • Perform daily phlebotomy activities accurately, professionally, and in a timely manner under the direction of the nurse supervisor.
  • Handle laboratory data collection systems and equipment to ensure requests for laboratory tests are properly ordered, cancelled, and charged.
  • Maintain a constant awareness of policies and procedures, ensuring enforcement of infection control processes when working with or around patients.
  • Effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members through courteous, prompt, and polite interactions.
  • Document all information correctly and maintain accurate records.
  • Participate in center/agency surveys and any subsequently required reports.
  • Follow established safety regulations, including fire protection and prevention, smoking regulations, infection control, and other safety procedures.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved phlebotomy training program.
  • A minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience required, with a focus on geriatrics.
  • Active, current, and unrestricted Certified Nursing Assistant certification in the appropriate state.
  • Phlebotomy Certification.
