About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team at UW Health University Hospital. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Surgical Preparation: Prepare the Operating Room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Assisting Surgeons: Provide assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures, maintaining a safe and sterile environment.
  • Patient Care: Care for patients during surgical procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Instrument and Supply Management: Manage and maintain instruments and supplies used during surgical procedures.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum two years of scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience required.
  • Cardiothoracic Experience: Must have experience in cardiothoracic surgery, including heart and lung transplant.
  • Academic Level 1 - Trauma Center Experience: Must have experience working in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital.
  • Travel Experience: Prior traveler experience highly preferred.
  • Education: Successfully completed a surgical technologist program or two years' experience in Surgical Technologist role may be considered in lieu of completion of program.
  • References: Needs 2 references from recent work environment/assignments (from supervisor or manager only and for work performed in the last two years).
Additional Requirements
  • Floating: Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the traveler's competency skills/experience.
  • Schedule Flexibility: The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization.
