Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, feeding, and toileting.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting a sense of well-being and dignity.
  • Monitor and report any changes in resident condition to nursing staff, ensuring timely interventions and care.
  • Participate in resident care planning, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of resident care, adhering to confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant - CNA preferred.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in geriatric care or a related field; experience working with dementia or Alzheimer's patients an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition residents with or without assistance; physical stamina to perform duties in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends, as needed.
