Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Over the Road Driver to join our team at Martin's Famous Pastry Shoppe, Inc. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for safely transporting and delivering our products to customers across the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive a tractor-trailer combination to transport and deliver bread, roll, and snack products
  • Inspect the truck for defects before and after trips and submit a report indicating the truck's condition
  • Maintain a driver log according to I.C. regulations
  • Perform dock work, including breaking down and unloading finished product at warehouses, matching and verifying product with orders, operating an electric or manual jack, and loading stale product and empty baskets back onto the truck
  • Jockey the tractor-trailer at plant locations
  • Deliver special orders
  • Assist with delivering bulk finished product between production plants
  • Adhere to safety, food safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices regulations
Requirements
  • Class A license required
  • Two plus years' OTR experience preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
Working Conditions

The work environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
