The Chief Financial Officer plays a pivotal role in Ballad Health's success by overseeing the financial planning, direction, and monitoring of assigned hospitals, departments, and services.

As a key member of the Administrative Staff, the CFO is responsible for formulating long-term strategic and business plans to ensure the continued viability of Ballad Health.

The CFO provides financial leadership to the affiliates of their assigned Market and represents the hospitals in reporting to the Ballad CFO.

Key responsibilities include directing and monitoring all reporting directors/managers in the development and implementation of long and short-term departmental plans that support Ballad's Mission, Vision, and Values.

These plans encompass the development of annual goals and objectives, annual operations and capital budgets, facilities development, equipment evaluation and selection, personnel selection, assignment, development, and evaluation, resource allocation, and customer relations.

The CFO is accountable for evaluating the work performance of all reporting directors and managers and ensuring that Ballad's policies are consistently observed.

The CFO is also responsible for directing the development and implementation of appropriate departmental policies and procedures for reporting departments.

Additionally, the CFO is accountable for compliance with all pertinent TJC standards, and local, state, and federal regulations by reporting departments.

As an integral part of the hospital's Administrative Staff, the CFO actively participates in the organization's performance improvement, organizational improvement, and reengineering programs.

The CFO is expected to practice fiscal responsibility by holding reporting directors and managers accountable for developing realistic annual operating and capital budgets, conserving resources, and monitoring expenditures to ensure they remain within budgeted parameters.

The CFO will require reporting directors and managers to regularly inspect the facilities and equipment in their areas to ensure performance of maintenance and repairs necessary for optimum operating conditions.

The incumbent is responsible for assisting all departments to maintain the skilled and qualified staff necessary to provide quality service.

The CFO is accountable for maintaining harmonious interactions between departmental personnel and their customers, including patients, family members, visitors, physicians, clergy, other hospital employees, and the general public.

The CFO is expected to set an example for all employees of commitment and loyalty to Ballad Health by openly supporting and participating in organizational projects and events.

The CFO will lend technical assistance and act in a consultant role to network health care providers.

Key Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in financial leadership and management
  • Experience in healthcare finance and operations

Work Environment:

The CFO will work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.

The CFO will be required to travel locally to meet with hospital administrators and other stakeholders.
