Job Description:

As a Physical Therapy Aide, you will work directly with physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and patients, assisting in the delivery of treatment and promoting a positive and supportive clinic environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing direct support to patients during their therapy sessions, following the guidance of the physical therapist or physical therapist assistant.
  • Assisting with exercises, equipment setup, and ensuring patient safety.
  • Preparing treatment areas and equipment, ensuring they are clean, organized, and ready for patient use.
  • Patient education: Assisting in patient education by explaining exercises, proper form, and treatment goals as directed by the clinical team.
  • Maintaining cleanliness: Keeping treatment areas, exercise equipment, and therapy rooms clean and sanitized to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Laundry and supplies: Assisting with laundry duties, such as washing and folding linens, towels, and other materials. Monitoring and restocking supplies as needed.
  • Patient records: Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records, including tracking and documenting patient progress and adherence to exercise programs.
  • Equipment maintenance: Ensuring that therapy equipment is properly maintained and reporting any equipment issues to the appropriate staff.
  • Communication: Effectively communicating with patients, physical therapists, and other team members to facilitate a smooth patient experience.
Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-focused attitude.
  • The ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is beneficial.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move equipment and assist patients as required.
  • A commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality.
