We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Records Technician to join our team at University Hospital, Newark NJ. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, producing, and distributing daily reports to all areas of Health Information Management.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and track software issues and report them to HIM Management.
- Collect, produce, and distribute daily reports to all areas of Health Information Management.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of software issues and HIM Management.
- Collaborate with HIM Management to resolve software issues and improve reporting processes.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in medical records related work required, or completion of at least one (1) year and continued enrollment in a Health Information Management or Health Information Technology (HIM or HIT) program will be considered in lieu of experience.
- Prior experience and/or use of an encoder (Clintegrity 360) and Epic electronic health record a plus.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English and have good oral and written communication skills.
- Must have the ability to perform job function, follow directions, and make decisions without direct supervision.
- Must have a working knowledge of computers and be able to navigate the internet.
- Must be proficient at using Windows and Microsoft Office, especially with the use of Excel, Outlook, and shared files as daily tools.
- Must be detail-oriented, display a high level of accuracy, and be organized.
- Must demonstrate professionalism, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers.
The Medical Records Technician may be required to work evenings and weekends.
