Role Summary:
The Registered Nurse (Emergency Room) will exhibit expertise in implementing the essential components of the nursing process, assist in nursing evaluations, and contribute to the formulation of a comprehensive nursing care strategy.
Leadership Responsibilities:
● Oversees care provided by nonprofessional staff and offers guidance as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
● Upholds nursing care standards by adhering to established policies and procedures.
● Actively participates in unit meetings and suggests enhancements for patient care during discussions.
● Engages in peer review processes as appropriate.
● Collects and documents comprehensive nursing histories from patients and/or their significant others, assessing current conditions and previous issues. Conducts basic patient assessments, demonstrating a solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathology. Records vital signs, notes any changes, and pursues further investigations as necessary. Identifies abnormal diagnostic data and communicates findings to physicians and other care team members, integrating this information into the nursing care plan.
● Develops a care plan by the end of the shift that provides sufficient information for incoming staff to ensure effective patient care. Reviews and updates care plans for assigned patients, involving the patient and their family in care planning, priority setting, and goal establishment.
● Utilizes care plans as a foundation for delivering safe and therapeutic patient care. Collaborates with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members to achieve care plan objectives. Accepts accountability for the clinical care of assigned patients, including supervision of nonprofessional staff.
● Evaluates and documents patient responses to nursing interventions as outlined in the nursing care plan and medical records.
● Commits to professional development through ongoing education and participation in unit conferences.
Required Qualifications:
● Strong verbal and written communication skills.
● Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail.
● Effective time management skills.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
● Proven supervisory and leadership skills.
● Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks appropriately.
● Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Educational and Professional Requirements:
● Valid nursing license in the state.
● At least 1 year of recent experience as a registered nurse.
● Demonstrated proficiency in at least 50% of the skills required for Level II nursing.
Physical Demands:
● Extended periods of sitting at a desk and using a computer.
● Prolonged standing, bending, and reaching.
● Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Compensation: $57.80 - $58.80 per hour
