The role of the Automated Equipment Maintenance Expert focuses on the application of predictive maintenance technologies within a highly automated medical production environment. This position is crucial for supporting the troubleshooting and repair of various equipment throughout the facility, including air compressors and injection molding machines, with the aim of reducing equipment downtime.
Key Responsibilities- Formulate and execute Work Instructions (WI) and Standard Operating Procedures to optimize the functionality of manufacturing and facility machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical systems of automated machinery, such as injection molding machines and automated assembly lines.
- Address and rectify electrical issues in automated systems, including PLCs and servo drives.
- Support facility technicians in the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems in facility equipment like chillers and process water systems.
- Identify potential mechanical design modifications and technologies to develop predictive tools for early detection of component failures.
- Participate in project teams to ensure the successful achievement of project goals.
- Assess training requirements and create training materials and standard operating procedures to promote continuous process improvement.
- Conduct safety audits and observations during the improvement processes to uphold safety standards amidst procedural changes.
- Propose solutions to challenges in existing operational procedures.
- Recognize and address barriers that may affect production targets.
- Encourage a clean and safe working environment.
- Associate of Applied Science Degree, completion of an apprenticeship, or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in maintaining automated manufacturing equipment and executing component repairs or in managing control systems and electrical repairs.
- Proficient in interpreting prints, schematics, and documentation for effective troubleshooting.
- At least 10 years of experience in a highly automated manufacturing setting, focusing on equipment troubleshooting and proposing reliability enhancements.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams for troubleshooting and documentation purposes.
- Expertise in diagnosing, analyzing, and resolving issues related to mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems requiring precise adjustments.
- Robust problem-solving and analytical capabilities to identify and address complex mechanical and sequencing challenges.
- Comprehensive understanding of intricate process chains in manufacturing equipment.
- Familiarity with Siemens control systems and ProfiNet communication protocols.
- PIT certification for man-lifts is preferred.
