Layton Services is a leading Earthwork, Site Development and Underground Utilities Contractor in the Newark, Ohio area. We are seeking an experienced Site Work Supervisor to join our team.

Compensation Package

The estimated annual salary for this position is $72,000 - $90,000, based on experience. Additionally, benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) investment with a 2% company match, uniform program, paid training, paid time-off, paid holidays, overtime pay opportunities, and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

">

This role involves overseeing and managing construction projects from start to finish. Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating daily job site operations, ensuring timely completion of projects within budget and adhering to safety protocols;
  • Inspecting and assessing project sites to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions;
  • Maintaining open communication with superintendents, crews, and clients to ensure clear expectations and resolve any discrepancies;
  • Developing and implementing effective strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality of work;
  • Managing and optimizing resources, including materials, equipment, and personnel, to minimize waste and optimize budgets;
  • Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives;
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards; and
  • Providing guidance and support to junior staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent;
  • At least three years of industry-related work experience in construction or site work;
  • Trenching and excavating certification (can be obtained once hired);
  • 30-hour OSHA certification (can be obtained once hired);
  • Basic computer knowledge, including email and construction software to manage employee time, job costs, and resources;
  • HeavyJob construction software experience is preferred;
  • A positive teamwork mindset and the willingness to learn;
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines;
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills; and
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and requirements.
