Speech-Language Pathologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at SpeechGuru. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for evaluating students' speech and language abilities, diagnosing communication disorders, and developing individualized plans of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate students' speech and language abilities and diagnose communication disorders using standardized tests and observational checklists.
  • Develop individualized plans of care for students, setting specific goals and determining appropriate therapy strategies.
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students based on IEP or 504 plan recommendations.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and other school staff to support students and implement classroom-based strategies.
  • Provide advice to classroom teachers on classroom accommodations and lesson adaptations.
  • Maintain thorough and confidential records of students' diagnoses, treatments, and progress.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on students' speech and language capabilities, challenges, and progress.
  • Stay updated with the latest research, strategies, and best practices in speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid state license or certification to practice as an SLP in schools.
  • ASHA Certification preferred.
  • Experience working with school-age children with various communication disorders.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to speech and language services in schools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using technology.
Job Details:
  • Job Type: Part-time, Contract.
  • Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour.
  • Expected hours: 21 per week.
  • Ability to Relocate: Tewksbury, MA (Required).
