Position Overview: The primary role of this position is to deliver high-quality radiographic imaging and associated techniques, generating images for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner under the supervision of a Radiology Technologist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collects and documents the patient's clinical history and relevant laboratory results, ensuring all information is accessible for the licensed practitioner; confirms informed consent and completes necessary pre and post-procedure documentation.
- Positions and secures patients to optimally demonstrate the anatomical area of interest, taking into account patient comfort and capabilities.
- Conducts radiographic procedures by selecting and operating imaging devices and related accessories to effectively carry out the tasks.
- Assists licensed practitioners during fluoroscopic and specialized radiographic procedures, applying appropriate aseptic techniques as required. Prepares and/or administers medications or contrast agents as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Implements timeout procedures as mandated by policy.
- Reviews images for technical quality and accuracy.
- Provides educational information to patients regarding procedures.
- Facilitates patient transport as needed.
- Restocks examination rooms and maintains cleanliness in the work area.

Qualifications:
Experience/Education:
- Must be entering the second year of a JRCERT accredited Radiography program.
Licensure/Certification:
- Completion of the American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 calendar days of hire. Exceptions for certification from other providers may be considered on a case-by-case basis. BLS recertification is required every two years.
- Must possess a South Carolina Limited License.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment while delivering accurate results in a timely manner.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership over projects and assignments.
- Team-oriented with excellent follow-up and customer service skills.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with patients and team members.
Physical Requirements: Medium Physical Agility Test (PAT) Rating.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, and walk; occasionally required to use hands and fingers; and frequently required to communicate verbally. The employee must exert 20 to 35 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
