Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Technician to join our team at UF Health. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing patient care services to individuals with psychiatric and substance abuse disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide physical and psychosocial interventions to patients, including assistance with daily living activities and vital sign monitoring.
  • Assist with maintaining a safe and secure milieu, including monitoring of unit equipment and supplies.
  • Engage in therapeutic activities with patients and assist therapists with programming.
  • Work under the direction of a nurse to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current CNA certification or completion of fundamental skills clinical experience in nursing school.
  • Previous work experience as a CNA, PCA, or MHT preferred.
  • Basic Life Support certification required upon hire.
