Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team at New Community Clinic. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health and well-being for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and Treatment: Prepare patients for dental hygiene treatment by welcoming, soothing, seating, and draping them. Maintain instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment by sharpening, sterilizing, and selecting instruments.
- Diagnostic Services: Properly capture digital radiographs that are diagnostic, and radiographs properly labeled. Detect disease by completing oral cancer screening, feeling and visually examining gums, using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession, and exposing and developing radiographic studies.
- Documentation and Communication: Document dental hygiene services by recording vital signs, medical, and dental histories, and charting in patient records. Complete med consults as directed by dentist, faxed to patient's PCP, and follows set clinic policies.
- Inventory Management: Maintain dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, and verifying receipt of supplies.
Requirements:
- Education: Associate degree in Dental Hygiene (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Experience: A minimum of 3-years preferred
- Expertise: Must be qualified in Basic Life Support techniques/CPR
