Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled EEG Technician to join our team at NorthShore University HealthSystem. As an EEG Technician, you will be responsible for operating electroencephalograph (EEG) machines to measure brain wave characteristics for use by physicians in diagnosing brain disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review patients' medical charts and explain procedures to patients and/or families to allay anxieties and elicit cooperation.
  • Position patients for testing and operate equipment according to established procedures.
  • Assist in performing EMG tests as directed.
  • Perform newborn Hearing Screenings in accordance with the State of Illinois guidelines.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic EEG technical training (a year or less).
  • Three to six months of previous EEG experience, preferred.
  • Current CPR certification (BLS) issued by either American Heart Association or Red Cross.
  • Registration by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists, preferred.
