Position Overview:
The Mechanical Stress Engineer will be tasked with performing pipe stress evaluations using Hexagon CAESAR II across a range of energy, oil, and gas projects. This role is integral to supporting the design engineering functions of Campos EPC. Candidates must possess a comprehensive understanding of pipe stress dynamics, standard piping design methodologies, and relevant industry regulations governing the design and assessment of pressure piping systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute pipe stress evaluations for various projects within the Campos EPC portfolio.
  • Provide constructive feedback to internal engineering teams regarding design viability, support loadings, and nozzle loadings.
  • Analyze stress evaluation outcomes, technical schematics, specifications, and calculations to ensure adherence to industry regulations, codes, and client specifications.
  • Offer technical expertise and support to address intricate engineering challenges and enhance pipe system designs for optimal performance and reliability.
  • Assist in conducting in-service stress assessments for Fitness-For-Service, service modifications, or other analyses as required.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:
  • Engage in client discussions, presentations, and negotiations to address technical questions, scope modifications, and project progress.
  • Work alongside cross-functional teams to align substation designs with comprehensive infrastructure strategies and operational plans.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Expertise in Hexagon CAESAR II and CADWorx.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong reporting skills.
  • Proven leadership capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of principles, procedures, and best practices in stress analysis.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Educational Background and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in stress analysis, particularly in pipe stress analysis.
  • Thorough understanding of industry and governmental codes and standards including ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, B31.12, CFR 49 Part 192, CFR 49 Part 193, CFR 49 Part 195, ASCE 7.
  • Extensive experience in troubleshooting existing systems and addressing common industry challenges to independently resolve technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
