Job Summary

The Accounting Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students enrolled in Accounting courses, including dual credit high school students. This role involves maintaining office hours, teaching extended day classes, labs, and hybrid/online courses, as required. The Instructor will also assist in the development of curriculum, coordinate advisory committee meetings, and participate in workshops and conferences to enhance teaching skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage students in the learning process through active teaching methods
  • Maintain professional behavior and adhere to institutional policies
  • Participate in college service, including committee work, advising, and recruiting
  • Teach classes during the fall and spring semesters, including online courses
  • Provide mentorship to dual credit partners/mentees
  • Attend Teaching and Learning Center sessions to enhance teaching skills
  • Stay abreast of national trends in education and assessment activities
  • Assist in the development of curriculum as needed
Requirements
  • A Master's Degree in Accounting or a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Accounting from a regionally accredited institution
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of teaching methodologies and pedagogical strategies
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Possess good time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching in higher education
  • Doctorate degree in subject area
  • Related field and/or industry certifications
