Solar Electrician

The Solar Electrician, also known as the Electrical Maintenance Technician - Solar Energy, is a critical field position responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of solar, energy storage, and EV charging installations. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

• Leadership and Training: Provide guidance and training to Solar Technician 1 and Solar Technician 2 team members.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform Preventive and Corrective Maintenance on solar, energy storage, and EV charging installations, adhering to MN8 and OEM standards.
• Troubleshooting: Efficiently diagnose and resolve issues with solar, energy storage, and EV charging installations.
• Documentation: Accurately complete all required documentation, checklists, timecards, and photography for work performed.
• Other Duties: Complete additional tasks assigned by direct supervisor.

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensure: State-issued Electrical Journeyman license.
• Background Check: Pass a criminal background and motor vehicle record check.
• Communication: Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Computer Skills: Basic computer operation skills and familiarity with internet-based program navigation.
• OSHA Knowledge: Proven experience understanding and implementing OSHA regulations.
• Electrical Theory: Intermediate to advanced electrical theory knowledge.
• IV Curve Tracing: Knowledge of and ability to perform and interpret IV Curve tracing.

• Driving: Ability to drive a vehicle.
• Standing: Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Walking: Ability to walk distances up to 5 miles in a day.
• Ladders and Scaffolding: Ability to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and the like, maintaining 3 points of contact.
• Visual Acuity: Required to have visual acuity, including depth perception, field of vision, and the ability to distinguish between colors.
• Work Environment: Ability to work in outside environments, including extreme heat and cold, for periods of more than one hour.
• Physical Exertion: Exerting up to 60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 40 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

• Travel: Drive up to 6 hours per day to reach and return for project locations.
• Work Environment: Work outside, in the environment up to 90% of the time, performing Preventive and Corrective Maintenances.
• Fast-Changing Environment: Work in a fast-changing environment, which may require quick decisions with limited processes and procedures.
