Physician Leader in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician to lead our Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service as Chief of Rehabilitation Services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physical medicine and rehabilitation, with experience in supervising physicians and other providers. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of PM&R services, ensuring effective administrative hours, and reviewing complaints and compliments about PM&R staff.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee staff associated with rehabilitation programs, including professional and administrative supervision
- Ensure the delivery of PM&R services effectively during administrative hours
- Review complaints and compliments about PM&R staff and work with patient advocates and congressional liaisons to optimize patient safety
- Validate and consult regarding labor mapping and outpatient clinic profiles for PM&R staff
- Disseminate information pertinent to PM&R practice at the facility
- Develop clinical screening processes that support timely scheduling of patients
- Write, modify, and/or review PM&R program policies and procedures
- Make decisions regarding resolution of difficult problems
- Assess and execute the most efficient deployment of staff
- Participate in recruiting qualified physicians, therapists, and other clinicians, as well as administrative staff
- Participate in the oversight of facility PM&RS clinical privileging/scope of practice processes, and peer review processes
- Participate in credentialing and privileging of PM&R providers and licensed independent practitioners
- United States Citizenship
- Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an approved school
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
- Residency training in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Three years or more of supervisory experience
- Two years of experience providing physical medicine and rehabilitation care
- American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) certification
