Sentara Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Unit Coordinator in our Intermediate Care Unit. As a Unit Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our unit, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting the nursing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Function as a charge nurse and staffing coordinator, ensuring adequate staffing levels and making adjustments as needed.
- Manage patient flow, bed assignments, and room utilization to optimize patient care and unit efficiency.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring evidence-based practice and quality outcomes.
- Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting health literacy and self-management.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care and unit operations.
Requirements:
- 18 months of nursing experience, with previous charge nurse experience strongly preferred.
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- RN-Bachelor's Degree required, RN-Master's Degree preferred.
