- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation for all students assigned.
- Execute necessary follow-up actions for students referred for special education services.
- Engage in consistent collaboration with both general and special education instructors.
- Make referrals to additional specialists when appropriate.
- Guarantee that all procedural safeguards are upheld for students and their families.
- Employ specialized instructional strategies tailored to meet the unique needs of the student population.
- Stay informed about the latest methodologies and techniques in the field of speech and language pathology.
- Conduct ongoing evaluations of student progress towards established objectives, adhering to program guidelines.
- Act as a resource for general education teachers and administrators regarding students with communication challenges.
- Fulfill any other responsibilities as assigned by the Program Specialist for Speech and Language, Director of Special Education, or the Assistant Superintendent for Student Services.
- Education and Experience: A Master's degree in Education or a related discipline is required.
- Certification or License: A valid Georgia Professional Certificate in Speech and Language Pathology issued by the Professional Standards Commission is mandatory.
- Language Proficiency: Ability to understand instructions and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Mathematical Competence: Proficiency in basic mathematical operations and data analysis.
- Analytical Skills: Capability to apply logical reasoning to execute instructions and resolve issues.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and familiar with interoffice software.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact positively with colleagues, administrators, and students.
Must serve as a role model for students, demonstrate positive personal attributes, and adhere to established standards of appearance and grooming.
Timely attendance and compliance with meeting attendance standards are essential, along with conducting activities in a safe manner.
Physical Requirements:Regularly required to walk, stand, and lift, with occasional crouching or kneeling. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:Noise levels are typically moderate, and frequent travel may involve exposure to traffic and outdoor conditions.
Confidentiality Requirements:Exposure to confidential information necessitates maintaining discretion regarding financial and personal data.
Additional Expectations:Punctuality, adherence to attendance standards, and safe conduct of activities are essential.
