Position Overview:
System One Holdings, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Dynatrace Engineer for a Long Term Contract role. The successful candidate will be integral to a team focused on enhancing observability across cloud and hybrid infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities:
The Dynatrace Application Performance Monitoring Engineer will be tasked with:

  • Creating dashboards for essential business processes utilizing Dynatrace dashboards and/or Dynatrace Business Events on SaaS.
  • Facilitating the planning and execution of the transition from Dynatrace Managed to Dynatrace SaaS/Azure.
  • Leveraging Dynatrace expertise to develop alerts, dashboards, and conduct data trend analysis for infrastructure and application performance monitoring.
  • Contributing to the establishment of the Technical Operations Center's event management and systems monitoring capabilities using Dynatrace.
  • Designing and maintaining comprehensive performance monitoring for applications, workloads, and environments.
  • Enabling event management and analytics to support the triage and resolution of incidents.
  • Developing and managing the infrastructure, processes, and automation that support observability of critical assets aligned with business objectives.
  • Analyzing performance data to identify root causes of negative trends.
  • Collecting application data and diagrams, advising on baseline monitoring thresholds, and recommending performance monitoring KPIs and SLAs.
  • Integrating multiple system alerts to provide a unified monitoring solution.
  • Utilizing customer service skills to manage tasks and organize extensive data for integration into an enterprise monitoring solution.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants should possess:

  • A Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree (or equivalent experience) with a minimum of 8 years of proven success in software systems and applications design, development, and implementation.
  • At least 5 years of experience with Dynatrace, including synthetic URL monitoring, agent installation, performance monitoring alerts, and data trend analysis.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with Dynatrace SaaS, DQL, and Logs on Grail.
  • Experience in developing Dynatrace dashboards for business processes, preferably using Dynatrace Business Events.
  • Proficiency in migrating from Dynatrace Managed to SaaS.
  • Experience in establishing baseline monitoring thresholds and recommending performance monitoring KPIs and SLAs.
  • Ability to gather and organize large datasets for instrumentation into an enterprise monitoring solution.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise log analysis frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud monitoring in AWS or Azure.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, or similar.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to improvement and automation.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

Desired Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will have:

  • Dynatrace certification.
  • Experience with Dynatrace SaaS in Azure.
  • Knowledge of Dynatrace Business Events.
  • Experience with Dynatrace and ServiceNow integration.
  • Familiarity with Azure Cloud-based tools, scripting, and monitoring.
  • Experience with automation, DevOps, CI/CD, and IaC tools and practices such as Terraform, Jenkins, Git, and Ansible.

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

Licenses/Certifications: ITIL Foundations v3 within 180 Days.
