Counselor Position

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Counselor to join our team at Family Service League Inc. in Mastic. As a Counselor, you will provide individual and group therapy to children, families, and adults with a range of mental health diagnoses. This is a full-time position requiring a Master's degree in social work and relevant licensure. Our ideal candidate has experience working in behavioral health settings, preferably in a clinic environment. They should be proficient in using the DSM V and have experience with therapeutic interventions for children, adolescents, and adults.

Responsibilities

- Provide evaluation/assessment, treatment planning, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention to those with behavioral health needs
- Offer individual and family therapy to children aged 5 and above, adolescents, and adults with various mental health conditions
- Deliver services in a trauma-informed, culturally, and linguistically competent manner
- Participate in routine supervision and team meetings

Requirements

- Master's degree in social work (MSW) or related field
- Relevant licensure (LMSW, LMHC, LMFT)
- At least one year of experience in a behavioral health setting, preferably in a clinic environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health records
- Valid NYS driver's license required
