About the Role

US 1 Shorthaul is seeking a skilled CDL Local Driver to join our team as a Yard Jockey. In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving trailers in and out of our dock, performing yard audits, and adhering to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Move trailers in and out of dock using yard goats
  • Perform drop and hook operations
  • Accurately complete yard audits at the end of each shift
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and submit reports on truck conditions
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations
Requirements
  • Class A CDL (preferred)
  • Minimum 12 months of over-the-road or trailer spotting experience
  • Ability to read, understand, and demonstrate safety rules and operating instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
