Highly Skilled Software Developer for Risk Engineering

About the RoleThis is a Senior Engineer position that involves working with the Risk Engineering team to develop sophisticated products fundamental to WEX's short and long-term strategic growth. The role requires ensuring industry compliance and transactional security using sophisticated anti-fraud systems.
You will work with the latest technologies and deployment strategies, including big data for analytics and AI/ML modeling, event-driven and containerized microservice architectures, cloud and Kubernetes deployments, and orchestrations.
The successful candidate will lead, work on, and grow challenging problems with huge business impact potential.
Your Responsibilities- Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to understand our customers' business and key challenges.
- Design, code, test, deploy, and monitor sophisticated processes in a cloud-based architecture.
- Effectively develop and maintain CI/CD automation using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, including provisioning and managing cloud-based data infrastructure.
- Perform software development with TDD and BDD, Microservice and event-oriented architectures.
- Analyze data, existing systems, and processes independently to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvements.
- Mentor and learn from peers, fostering continuous learning of new technology within the team and organization.
- Help in interviews and provide quality and timely feedback.
- Partner with team members in development and problem-solving.
- Lead a scrum team with proper agile development practices, ensuring high-quality and timely development and delivery.
- Own complex components or systems/products/platforms.
- Participate in technical discussions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or demonstrable equivalent deep understanding, experience, and capability.
- Master or PhD degree in Computer Science (or related field) and 2+ years of experience in software engineering or 4+ years of experience in software engineering at a large scale.
- Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Highly self-motivated and eager to learn, with a continuous growth and upskilling mindset.
- Rich experience in designing high-quality, performant, and efficient solutions for complex problems.
- Rich experience and good understanding of CI/CD automation.
- Experienced in combined engineering practice and agile development.
- Rich experience and strong implementation skills using languages like Java, C#, or Golang, including coding, automated testing, measurement, and monitoring.
- Good understanding of data processing techniques, such as data pipeline/platform development, SQL, and DBs.
- Experienced in cloud technology, such as AWS and Azure.

The base pay range for this position is $117,000.00 - $155,000.00 annually. Actual pay rates will vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
