Job Summary

The Certified Conductor will control and coordinate train movements while switching railcars in a safe and efficient manner to service our customers. This position requires manual labor and involves coordinating the activities of train crews, supervising switching operations, and maintaining records of railcar movements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate train movements and switching operations to ensure safe and efficient railcar handling.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of train crews, including engineers and conductors.
  • Maintain accurate records of railcar movements, including origin, destination, and cargo.
  • Communicate effectively with train dispatchers, engineers, and other crew members via radio and other means.
  • Ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations, and report any equipment or safety issues to management.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules and operating instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to pass and obtain all required certifications and training.
