About the Alliance Academy Mentorship Program
This unique ER training initiative is unlike any traditional rotating internship. It has been meticulously crafted to equip veterinarians with the essential competencies required for a fulfilling career in emergency veterinary medicine. Our program emphasizes not only clinical expertise but also the importance of effective communication with clients and team members, alongside professional development and work-life balance.
Training Structure
The ER Accelerated Internship & Placement Program employs a hybrid training model that integrates simulation-based learning with real-life experiences involving live patients. The curriculum is developed using evidence-based methodologies to ensure that all essential skills and competencies for a successful emergency clinician are covered.
Program Commitment
- 6-month training program at designated teaching hospitals within our network, supported by experienced mentors.
- Post-training commitment as an ER veterinarian at an Alliance Animal Health facility, totaling a 2-year program with approximately 6 months of training followed by 18-24 months of practice.
- Upon fulfilling your commitment, you will have the opportunity to choose a new facility within our network or continue your journey at your current location, with potential incentives for extended commitments.

- Typically a 4-day workweek during training, transitioning to a flexible schedule of 3-4 days per week at your placement facility.
- Accommodation provided throughout the immersive training phase.
- Travel expenses to the training hospital are covered.

- Interactive training sessions prior to the immersive experience, focusing on ER surgical techniques and critical care management.
