Job Summary

As a Chemistry Teacher at Jackson Public Schools, you will be responsible for teaching high school chemistry to students in a dynamic and engaging classroom environment. Your primary goal will be to help students develop a deep understanding of chemistry concepts and principles, as well as essential skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with varying learning styles and abilities.
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that incorporate hands-on activities, experiments, and technology to promote student learning and engagement.
• Assess student progress and understanding through regular quizzes, tests, and projects, and provide constructive feedback to students.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum that aligns with state and national standards.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification in Chemistry or a related field.
• Experience teaching high school chemistry or a related subject.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position with a standard 187-day school year. The salary range is $43,000 - $77,000 annually, with benefits and professional development opportunities available.
