Neuroscience Intermediate Care Unit Registered Nurse

Job Summary
The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in the Neuroscience Intermediate Care Unit at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. As a Registered Nurse, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional care to patients with complex neurological conditions.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' physical and emotional needs, developing individualized care plans to meet their unique requirements.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, lab results, and other critical indicators, taking prompt action to address any concerns or changes.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care, communicate effectively with families and caregivers, and provide education on disease management and self-care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices that enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements
- Current RN licensure in Virginia or a compact state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Nursing.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in a neuroscience or critical care setting.
