Job Summary

The Culinary Assistant position is an entry-level role in the Dining Services Unit, providing immediate support to upper-level cooks and chefs in the kitchen. Key responsibilities include food preparation, maintaining quality products, and adhering to company and food service standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and portion food products according to recipes and food safety specifications
  • Position, arrange, and garnish prepared food items for serving
  • Perform checks and log temperatures on refrigerators and freezers
  • Ensure departmental standards are met regarding product quality and presentation
  • Assist in catering and special functions
Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Experience in cooking methods, supervision, and food service operations
  • ServSafe certification
Working Conditions

Moderate to heavy lifting, constant standing, bending, and walking; exposure to temperature extremes, slippery surfaces, and potentially dangerous equipment.
