Job Title: Community Organizer Lead

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Community Organizer Lead. In this role, you will be responsible for leading canvasser teams to increase voter engagement and turnout in our communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mobilize Community Members: Organize and lead weekly door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, and community voter registration activities to mobilize MRA-NV members and increase civic participation.
  • Build Relationships: Develop and foster relationships with the community directly, understanding and encouraging increased civic participation through voting, volunteering, or communicating the importance of voting.
  • Field Observations: Communicate with campaign managers on any field observations to ensure the success of registering people to vote and identifying potential hotspots.
  • Represent the Organization: Represent Make the Road Nevada positively to the community and answer questions in a non-partisan manner as required by law.
  • Meet Goals: Meet assigned goals associated with each metric on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Data Entry: Report daily to the campaign manager on quantitative and qualitative metrics, ensuring timely and accurate data entry and reporting.
  • Communication: Attend daily and weekly scheduled calls and meetings as needed.
  • Training: Attend trainings on voter contact tactics, program strategy, and safety.
  • Door-to-Door Canvassing: Door-to-door canvassing is an essential function of this job where canvassers spend a minimum of 4-6 hours a day on turf.
  • Timesheets: Log daily timesheets in ADP.
  • Recruitment: Support the recruitment of canvassers.

Requirements:

  • Eligibility: Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Vaccination: Required to be fully vaccinated with a FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccine prior to the first day of employment.

  • Reliable Transportation: Must have reliable access to a vehicle and a valid driver's license with insurance.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work long and irregular hours in a fast-paced, metrics-driven work environment.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently and in team settings. Strong interpersonal communication skills with an outgoing personality and a passion for social and radical justice.

Salary and Benefits:

The hourly rate for this position is $24.00. Temporary employees are eligible for health, dental, and vision benefits.
