Adjunct Instructor

Job Summary:

At Lansing Community College, we are seeking an Adjunct Instructor to teach courses in Medical Insurance Billing & Coding. The successful candidate will have a strong background in the field and be able to effectively communicate with students. This is a part-time position, with teaching assignments on the downtown Lansing campus, as well as other LCC campuses and online.

Responsibilities:

• Teach courses in Medical Insurance Billing & Coding, including didactic and externship formats
• Develop and deliver course content consistent with official course syllabi and professional/industry standards
• Assess and grade student work, and provide feedback to students
• Participate in course assessment, department/program meetings, and professional development activities

Requirements:

• Associate Degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited college or university
• Minimum of 6 years of experience working in a field specifically related to the course to be taught
• Ongoing documented professional development in the discipline or sub-discipline
• Significant experience working in the Medical Insurance Billing & Coding field
• Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population and as a member of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in a healthcare field, Education, Leadership, or related health discipline from a regionally accredited college or university
• Teaching experience at the college or community college level
• Course management system experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
