Position Overview

STR is seeking a Lead Systems Architect to join our dynamic team. This role involves working on a diverse range of Department of Defense (DoD) mission projects, with opportunities for hybrid work arrangements based on specific program needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in systems architecture, navigating the complete Systems Engineering Lifecycle, and utilizing Digital Engineering/Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to ensure architectural coherence and traceability through comprehensive requirements analysis, software development, and system deployment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Directing development initiatives through the Systems Engineering process utilizing MBSE strategies that align with DoD Digital Engineering objectives.
  • Employing rigorous MBSE methodologies using SysML within Cameo (MagicDraw).
  • Providing guidance and training to fellow Systems Engineers on MBSE practices.
  • Collaborating closely with domain specialists and software development teams to achieve program designs and digital engineering aspirations.
  • Establishing traceability between MBSE model content and specialized analysis tools and simulations.

Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance with the capability to obtain a Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship.
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience in a Technical Project Lead role.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with SysML models in Cameo or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with software-intensive systems and open architecture principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • Over 5 years of experience in system architecture using modeling tools.
  • Expertise in areas such as Radar, Electronic Warfare, Acoustic Systems, Sensor Resource Management, and Cyber Physical Systems.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C/C++, or Python.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of government open architectures, including Open Mission Systems.
  • Experience with the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM).
