Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the US GAAP quarterly consolidation process of URW US's numerous wholly owned and joint venture entities
  • Oversee the quarterly and annual US GAAP financial statement reporting process
  • Assist in the IFRS quarterly consolidation process of URW US's entities
  • Support the annual and quarterly IFRS financial statement reporting process, including deliverables required for the URWSE Parent company's public filings
  • Manage BFC administrative functions, including approving topsides, approving rollup of new accounts and business entities, report changes, system rule changes, troubleshooting, and becoming a BFC go-to contact for the Accounting groups
  • Collaborate with the Parisian parent representatives as needed on questions that arise
  • Manage various consolidation issues, such as Noncontrolling Interests, Equity Accounting, IFRS 16, ASC 842, Preference Shares, Financial Assets, etc.
  • Supervise a Senior Accountant, provide staff development and training
  • Review supporting schedules, roll forwards, and journal entries prepared by the team and assist in preparation of these schedules as needed
  • Work closely with the external auditors for the annual audit of US GAAP consolidated financial statements, semi-annual IFRS reporting packages, and audit of internal controls
  • Collaborate with the Accounting groups to provide accounting expertise for US GAAP technical issues and questions that arise and provide guidance for their preparation of the Stand Alone US GAAP financial statements
  • Help identify areas of improvement, assist with documentation of policies and procedures where appropriate
  • Assist with other reports, schedules, investigations, and ad hoc projects
  • Assist with US GAAP accounting research and implementation, and IFRS accounting research as necessary
  • Assist with accounting for acquisitions, dispositions, and other projects and transactions

Requirements

  • Finance or Accounting degree strongly preferred, real estate experience a plus
  • 5 – 7 years of total finance experience, including at least 3 – 5 years of public accounting experience and management experience
  • Strong background in financial reporting, consolidations, and technical accounting
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP consolidations, equity accounting, noncontrolling interests, and cash flows, with IFRS experience in these areas a plus
  • Understanding and application of accounting for acquisitions and dispositions
  • Experience with BFC a plus, or other consolidation and reporting tool
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels throughout the organization
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to work well with other team members and departments and supervise, train, and motivate staff
  • Ability to meet deadlines and simultaneously manage multiple projects

Compensation

  • Exempt
  • Up to $106,000-$134,000 + Discretionary Annual Bonus
