Accede Solutions Inc is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in Peoria, IL. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in the operating room, working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses to ensure the smooth execution of surgical procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the provision and management of care to patients through the application of the nursing process.
- Assess patient's status through interview, observation, and physical assessment of actual problems and outcomes.
- Develop an individualized plan of care using a collaborative approach with the patient/family and healthcare team.
- Use appropriate interventions identified in the plan of care to achieve expected patient outcomes.
- Systematically evaluate and document patient's progress toward expected outcomes/goals on an ongoing basis throughout the shift.
- Modify plan of care based on evaluation.
- Complete required documentation as appropriate, including patient chart and event reports.
- Demonstrate professional accountability for own practice as evidenced through seeking resources and continuing self-development.
- Demonstrate technical knowledge of equipment and troubleshoot when problems arise.
- Acquire and maintain current knowledge and skills in evidence-based nursing practice.
- Promote the professional development of self and team members.
- Share clinical knowledge through normal teaching and in response to the learning needs of others.
- Demonstrate a practical problem-solving approach to patient moving and handling issues (as applicable).
- Demonstrate skills to promote patient and staff safety through appropriate use of lift equipment (as applicable).
- Possess knowledge and skills necessary to obtain adequate lab specimens for testing.
- Perform patient bedside lab testing and associated quality control in compliance with medical provider's orders and hospital lab procedures/policies.
Requirements:
- 1 year current OR experience in a hospital setting.
- EYE experience required.
- BLS (AHA) certification.
Additional Requirements:
- Traveler MUST be COVID vaccinated.
- Medical/Religious exemptions must be approved prior to submission.
- All candidates' permanent addresses MUST be over 60 miles from this facility.
