About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Barista to join our team at Barnes & Noble. As a Senior Barista, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences, leading by example, and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Experience: Deliver perfect beverages that exceed customer expectations, engage with customers, build rapport, and provide friendly, fast service.
  • Mentorship: Help train junior baristas on cafe offerings, recommend products, and handcrafted beverages, ensuring they are confident in customer conversations.
  • Cafe Environment: Ensure the cafe is welcoming to all customers by maintaining a stocked bake case, neatly displayed merchandise, and a clean and tidy environment.
  • Operational Standards: Execute and model all operational standards correctly, in a timely manner, and in accordance with cafe standards, safety, and health codes.
  • Asset Protection: Protect company assets by adhering to all processes and working efficiently to control waste and shrink.
Requirements
  • Knowledge & Experience: Understand and execute cafe offerings and operational procedures, help teach new employees, and act as a role model for others.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively and respectfully, listen to customers, and identify their needs to their satisfaction.
  • Time Management: Shift gears quickly, prioritize, and multi-task, working with consistent urgency and efficiency.
  • Barista Skills: Demonstrate exemplary barista level skills, including passion for cafe offerings, ability to pair foods and beverages, and patient, respectful communication.
