Mary Cariola Children's Center is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in providing high-quality care to individuals with developmental disabilities. As a Residential Care Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Administer medications to residents in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Accurately and consistently complete all required documentation practices, including resident records and incident reports.
- Assist in the personal and physical care needs of residents, including bathing, toileting, eating, and dressing, as needed.
- Perform housekeeping tasks, such as meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry, as designated by the shift supervisor or Residence Coordinator.
- Attend and participate in team meetings and other meetings as requested.
- Implement fire, safety, and emergency procedures, and assist with fire drills.
- Implement and follow all required individual programming and agency-specific policies and procedures accurately and consistently.
- Assist in transportation to and from medical appointments as required.
- Maintain Agency-Approved Driver status and complete all required ongoing and annual trainings and in-services, as assigned.
- Licensed Practical Nursing licensure.
- 6 months to 1 year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Possess a current and valid NYS driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Experience in an OPWDD-certified residential setting.
- Maintain LPN licensure.
- NYS Medication Administration.
- CPR.
- First Aid.
- SCIP-r.
- All other trainings mandated by the OPWDD.
