Astronomy Instructor Position at College of the Canyons

We are seeking a qualified Astronomy Instructor to join our adjunct faculty pool at College of the Canyons. As an adjunct faculty member, you will have the opportunity to teach Astronomy courses and contribute to the academic success of our students.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach Astronomy courses at the college level
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and course materials
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide activities and committees
  • Stay current with developments in the field of Astronomy and incorporate new knowledge into your teaching
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Astronomy or a related field
  • OR - Bachelor's degree in Astronomy or a related field and a Master's degree in a related field such as Physics, Mathematics, or Engineering
  • OR - Possession of an unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in Astronomy
  • Ability to create a dynamic learning environment and engage students in the learning process
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
