Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Produce Department Manager in leading the produce department team and ensuring that all department standards are met.
  • Provide guidance and training to produce department associates to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge necessary to provide excellent service to our guests.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure that all products are properly priced and displayed.
  • Communicate effectively with store directors, produce managers, and other department managers to ensure that all department standards are met and that our guests receive exceptional service.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our guests, including answering questions, making recommendations, and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Assist with daily responsibilities, including receiving and stocking produce, maintaining a clean and organized department, and ensuring that all quality standards are met.
  • Contribute to the overall cleanliness and organization of the department, including picking up, organizing, and cleaning work areas, shelving, and sales floor as needed.
  • Maintain accurate food safety logs and ensure that all quality standards are met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm.

Requirements:

  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment.
  • Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies.
  • Must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises.
  • Knowledge of the retail food business, thorough knowledge of perishable department operations, merchandising skills, and must be able to make timely and effective decisions.
