In this role, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the design and planning of public transportation projects, working closely with our Southern California Transportation group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Planning: Support Rail Project Managers and Engineers to develop track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Civil and Track Engineering: Take responsibility for civil and track engineering assignments, including drainage, structural, and utilities tasks.
  • Project Support: Develop design criteria, project guides, project meeting notes, and project controls while supporting Project Manager.
  • Project Delivery: Work independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers on larger projects.
  • Leadership and Direction: Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Software Proficiency: Basic knowledge of InRoads/InRail, OpenRail Designer, and/or Civil3D.
  • Experience: Experience with InRoads/InRail, OpenRail Designer, and/or Civil3D.
  • 3D Modeling: Experience with 3D modeling.
  • Industry Experience: 2+ years of experience in rail/transportation design.
  • Career Progression: Candidates hired without their EIT will be called a Rail Transit Designer and expected to obtain EIT for career progression.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Location: Local candidates preferred.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Certification: Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
  • Software Skills: Basic knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
  • MS Office Applications: MS Office Applications experience.
  • Industry Interest: Strong interest in railroad design.
