As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Mercy, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality anesthesia care to patients undergoing various medical procedures.

This part-time position requires a skilled professional who can administer anesthetic care, develop and implement anesthetic plans, and monitor patients' responses to anesthesia.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough pre-anesthetic assessments and evaluations of patients.
  • Develop and implement anesthetic plans of care, including monitoring modalities and post-anesthesia follow-up evaluations.
  • Select, obtain, and administer anesthetic plans, including induction, maintenance, and emergence phase anesthesia.
  • Recognize alterations in physiologic responses to surgical procedures and/or anesthesia, take appropriate action, and notify responsible physicians as indicated.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited CRNA program.
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) and certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • Current certification and continued professional certification (CPC) with the National Board of Certification Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) and State Board of Nursing endorsement.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) are required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through American Academy of Pediatrics certifications may be required based upon work setting.

Work Environment:

  • Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work under extreme pressure and make critical decisions quickly.

Physical Requirements:

  • Full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extensive periods and lift and transport patients.
  • Corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
  • Some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
