Job Summary:
As a Truck Spotter at Koch Foods, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely loading of outgoing palletized products. Your primary responsibility will be to position refrigerated trailers at the shipping dock, requiring attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate equipment, including tractors and trailers, to move and park trailers at the holding area
  • Inventory holding trailers and ensure safe distances between trailers
  • Drive five-speed company tractors to and from the loading dock and holding area
  • Connect or disconnect air lines and crank trailer jacks
  • Safely back up to building ramps and position tractors and trailers into loading dock bays
  • Drive forklifts and pallet jacks to load trucks
  • Clean bays and outside areas

Requirements:

  • Safely operate equipment and navigate confined areas
  • Make decisions on which vehicles to move based on inventory and product being loaded at the dock
  • Coordinate with shipping personnel and incoming truck drivers
  • Requires full use of hands, arms, legs, and feet
  • Climb 3 feet to get into the tractor cab
  • Requires reaching, pulling, and pushing to hitch and unhitch trailers, connect and disconnect brake lines
  • Requires 50% sitting for driving and 30% standing and walking to spot trailers and take inventory
  • Requires 100% hand use for steering, shifting, and hand cranking

Physical and Environmental Factors:

  • Works in a normal outdoor logistics environment with exposure to extreme temperature changes
  • Equipment/Tools: Operator License for tractor and trailer
