Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Systems Engineer - Expert to join our team at Peraton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing high-level data ingest data flows from source to destination. Your expertise in data transport and ingest requirements will be crucial in ensuring the success of our mission.

Responsibilities

As a Data Systems Engineer - Expert, you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with customers to understand their data transport and ingest requirements.
  • Designing and implementing data ingest data flows from source to destination.
  • Providing quality assurance of data ingest requests and validating ingress, transport, conditioning, and egress requirements.
  • Collaborating with Mission Partner and ISSE/ISSM teams to facilitate security assessments of system-to-system interconnects.
  • Collaborating with transport and ETL teams to triage, transport, and condition one-time and recurring production data feeds.


Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A minimum of 12 years of experience with a BS/BA; minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.; minimum 15 years in lieu of degree.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of customer data lifecycle.
  • Demonstrable understanding of metadata, classification, and access controls.
  • Experience with customer A&A process.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to function in a customer-facing role.
  • TS/SCI with poly.


Desired Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Understanding of ingest, transport, and storage of large structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Understanding of access controls and tools used to implement access controls.
  • Understanding of customer data governance policies and tools implementing that policy.
  • Experience with accreditation processes, developing required artifacts, coordinating with sponsor infosec, implementing security requirements, and remediations.

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
