About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at East Jefferson General Hospital. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in the cancer treatment process, working closely with patients, radiation oncologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer radiation therapy to patients, ensuring accurate and timely treatment
  • Monitor patient conditions and report any abnormalities to the radiation oncologist
  • Assist in the localization of tumors and perform simulations and treatments as ordered
  • Perform simple dose calculations and record treatments on patient charts
  • Maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring proper stock and cleanliness of patient care areas
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Radiologic Technologist license by the Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners
  • Radiography Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
  • American Heart Association BLS certification
  • 1 year of experience with radiation therapy equipment, including Varian, GE, and TOMO
