Veterans Gynecologic Care

The Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration is seeking a highly skilled Gynecologist Specialist to join our team. As a Women's Health Physician, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care to our nation's heroes and their families.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing full-range gynecologic surgical procedures, including laparoscopy, robotic surgery, and hysteroscopy. The ideal candidate will have experience working with women veterans, particularly those with PTSD and MST (military sexual trauma).
The successful candidate will also be required to maintain involvement in clinic productivity, relevant performance measures, quality and patient safety oversight, and process improvement initiatives.
Requirements and Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending the completion of training or license requirements may be referred but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
Currently employed physicians in VA who met the requirements for appointment under the previous qualification standard at the time of their initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements of the occupation.
The selected candidate will be required to serve a probationary period and pass a background/security investigation.
Education and Training
The selected candidate will be required to complete residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Additionally, they must obtain a copy of the ECFMG certificate, if claimed, and confirm that the medical school meets ECFMG eligibility requirements for the year the candidate graduated.
