Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States Kipp Full time
Company Overview

KIPP is a prominent network of free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory public schools dedicated to serving under-resourced communities across the United States. Currently, KIPP operates 281 locally-managed regions in over 25 states and Washington, DC, reaching approximately 120,000 students. A significant majority, over 80 percent, of KIPP students come from low-income backgrounds, with more than 95 percent identifying as African American or Hispanic/Latino. Through high expectations for both students and staff, exceptional educators, extended learning time, autonomy in budget and curriculum, and a results-oriented approach, KIPP schools are committed to preparing traditionally underserved students for success in higher education and beyond. KIPP schools have garnered national recognition for their achievements, with nearly 85% of KIPP alumni successfully enrolling in college.

All KIPP institutions adhere to a core set of operational principles, known as the Five Pillars, which KIPP believes are essential for fostering high academic performance: High Expectations, Choice & Commitment, More Time, Power to Lead, and a Focus on Results.

KIPP Minnesota Overview

Who we are: KIPP Minnesota Schools is a dynamic network of high-performing, college-preparatory public charter schools. In the upcoming academic year, we will serve over 300 students in grades K-8 in north Minneapolis. KIPP Minnesota Schools is an entrepreneurial organization poised for significant growth in the coming years.

What we do: Our mission is to ensure that every student develops the knowledge, skills, and character necessary for success. We are relentless in our efforts to provide every student with the opportunity to attend college and access the life-changing opportunities that come with it. The KIPP Minnesota Regional Team plays a vital role in supporting our schools, school leaders, and staff through organizational and academic alignment, business management, strategic planning, and back-office functions.

How we do it: We believe there are no shortcuts to success. Exceptional educators, rigorous lessons, extended school hours, and a strong school culture work together to support our students on their journey to college. We collaborate as a team, utilize data, and engage in continuous reflection to enhance our practices. We are committed to ensuring that all KIPPsters can achieve their college aspirations, and we support them every step of the way.

Why it matters: In our communities, only about 1 in 10 students earn a college degree. We find this situation unjust and unacceptable, and we believe it can be changed. Nationwide, over 85% of KIPP middle school alumni go on to enroll in college.
