Central to our 3D printing methodology are our print configurations, the parameters that Performance Engineers refine to guarantee that our clients are producing components that are reliable, aesthetically pleasing, precise, and efficient. The Settings Optimization team is a cooperative group, with varied expertise, dedicated to enhancing print performance and user satisfaction with our leading range of material options (over 40 and still growing).

As a 3D Printing Performance Engineer, you will be deeply involved in creating and implementing strategies to enhance our customers' printing experiences, diagnosing issues, executing solutions, and introducing the latest and most effective print configurations to the market. You will work closely with R&D and engineering teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of the printing technology, as well as collaborate with product and marketing teams to integrate user behaviors into your workflows. Your refined settings will be launched directly, yielding immediate and measurable benefits for our users. Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance the capabilities of our 3D printers and materials. Refine settings to achieve optimal performance and characteristics.
  • Develop and manage process enhancements to elevate user experiences across our diverse range of materials and printers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to implement improvements and release new and updated 3D printer configurations.
  • Diagnose and resolve challenges related to 3D print settings, provide guidance to internal teams, and determine updates to enhance print and/or material performance.
Qualifications:
  • Proficient in conducting root cause analysis, considering the interplay of material, software, and hardware.
  • Experience in process enhancement, experimental design, and data analysis.
  • Strong sense of ownership with meticulous attention to detail and quality.
  • Adept at maintaining organization and effectively prioritizing tasks in a dynamic work environment.
  • Hands-on approach and willingness to cross disciplinary boundaries to resolve issues.
  • Ability to work independently and acquire new skills to achieve objectives.
  • Familiarity with coding, preferably in Python.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design and CAD modeling.
  • B.S., M.S., or PhD in a science or engineering discipline (all backgrounds are welcome).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of material properties and characterization.
  • Experience in launching new products.
  • Familiarity with additive manufacturing.
