Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to lead our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of electrical design, programming, and implementation of control systems for industrial processes and machinery. As a Senior Controls Engineer, you will lead projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and develop control systems architecture for industrial processes and machinery
  • Configure, program, and commission PLCs, HMIs, industrial robots, and peripheral devices
  • Lead project kickoff meetings, design reviews, FATs, and project status meetings
  • Create detailed technical documentation, including system specifications, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and user manuals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate robust functionality of control systems
  • Provide regular project updates and reports to stakeholders
Requirements
  • Associate degree in electrical or Control Systems Engineering required
  • 6 years of experience in controls engineering with a focus on industrial automation
  • Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming, with experience in industry-standard platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) required
  • AutoCAD electrical design required
  • Strong understanding of control system design principles and industrial communication protocols required
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills required
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in industrial automation required
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical codes required
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 50% required
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal required
  • Ability to pass physical, drug, driving, and background check required
  • Ability to physically push, pull, and lift 50lbs or more required
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for four-plus hours at a time required
  • Alignment with company core values required
Preferred Qualifications
  • EPLAN experience preferred
  • Fanuc, ABB, Kuka programming preferred
